Stronger Waitaki Coalition

OUR VISION

Waitaki - The Best Place to Be

Stronger (Safer) Waitaki is a whole-of-community project with a focus on community building, including safety, community health, well-being and development.

We are a coalition that provides a mechanism for the community to work together to maximise resources and expertise.  The project was initiated in March 2013 as a way to identify and respond to the key community priorities for the Waitaki District.

The Stronger Waitaki project was initiated as a way to identify and respond to the key community priorities for the Waitaki District.

This collective impact approach provides a mechanism to work together, thus maximising resources and expertise. Waitaki has achieved accreditation and is recognised as a member of Pan Pacific Safe Communities Network and is committed to being an inclusive voice for our community.

The Stronger Waitaki network is comprised of a large number of groups and organisations representing Government Departments, Local Government, NGOs, Emergency Services, Cultural Groups, Health and Wellbeing, Mental Health and Addictions, Education and Workplaces.  We invite all sectors to be active partners in making Waitaki a safe place to live, work and play.

It is a coalition guided by an inter-sectorial stewardship group.
